Heritage Architecture was appointed in 2017 as a Conservation Architect and Heritage Consultant to secure a listed building consent for the refurbishment of this wonderful Grade II listed building in Wimbledon. After purchasing the property our client wished to refurbish and upgrade the house, with some minor alterations, in order to create a modern and comfortable family home, but at the same time maintain and celebrate the history and the character of the house and its grounds.
We have also provided guidance for the client and the project team through the heritage and planning process and worked closely with the Council in exploring the sensitive refurbishment proposals so they could be achieved with only minor sensitive alterations and minimal interference with the historic building fabric.
Following the listed building consent received in 2018, we were commissioned to discharge the planning conditions and provide heritage and conservation input to the project team, the contractors and specialist sub-contractors during both the pre-construction and construction phases. This ensured the works met the requirements of the client while protecting the special interest of this Grade II listed building.
